Your Own Special Smoothie Video Transcript
It’s Spring 2022 gang, and it’s time for us to get back out there – I have a little tidbit that I think is going to help you along. Introducing my amazing friend, Janelle, who has a plate full of obstacles; her life could be a country song:
two dogs,
three jobs,
two kids,
and a guy that is trying to get into the life of her life, if you catch my drift.
In all that madness, her children deal with chronic illness having to travel back and forth to large regional medical centers in the car AND … one of the things I admire most about Janelle, as she gets back out there, is that she is one of the funniest people who has a crazy response to what life throws her!
Oh, we have cry fest and sad fests, but the thing I cherish is her wicked sense of humor. “Don’t forget to bring my cigarettes to the jailhouse because today, girl, the day I’ve had, I sure am going.”
When I ask her how she’s doing, sometimes, her response is “we t-i-r-e-d”! She lets me know when she’s been hit by an avalanche, but she tells me you still gotta laugh. She laughs saying she’s going to the woodshed to get away from life. And she has a stash of whatever, which is her own business out there.
Humor makes her life more doable.
It is so important to mix in some humor. We need to laugh, act silly and go just plain S-t-u-p-i-d. It helps us make it through some of the hardest times. She jokes about selling her children, and I tell her I’m gonna sell mine for a half of a quarter. As I’m recording this video, I’m smiling just thinking about my comedian friend…she makes my heart a little bit lighter.
We don’t have to continually focus on the negativity that we all have to deal with, that has beaten us, beating us to a pulp. We can use that pulp to make our own special smoothie.
My wish for you is that you have and make more funny interactions — that we spend more of our time around great people like that.
