Be An Influencer: Motivation with Monica Video Transcript
You never did this, but I did … when I was 17, and as a young adult, I thought I knew EVERYTHING! I didn’t want you to tell me anything, – you couldn’t hit me in the butt with a red apple … but, now I have learned the value of what wise people were trying to teach me.
Where is this going, Monica? Fellow parents, let’s not be ashamed to pass on wisdom …. or get so caught up in “it’s old school” or “that was then” that we don’t make a priority of passing on the good. TAKE THE BEST OF WHAT INFLUENCERS TAUGHT YOU. We would leave our kids or jewelry, our money, so why would we leave them wisdom?
Help them to learn to wear wisdom like jewelry. TAKE THE BEST WITH YOU … and pass it on.
Just a few of the great sayings I can remember:
My best friend’s dad used to say, “It will cost you more than you planned.”
My aunt, the one we called “Aunt Goat” advised, “Be careful who you let stay in your house, because it’s hard to get ‘em out.”
Aunt Tutta who fussed at me for not bringing our child to see her more, and she was right.
My Mom declared, “Every shut eye ain’t sleep,” and “Every goodbye is not gone.”
Grandma Hazel quoted, “When you do right, right will follow you.”
And I could do on and on… but my point remains. We keep looking for the best ways to parent; we listen to experts, and that information is valuable … however, as we try to make a bridge for those who are coming after us, our walking breathing heart transplants, let’s give them something we can’t buy for them. I encourage us all to sprinkle the star dust on their trail as often as we can… some of it will stick!
For here at TheBestYou.Site, we are not just survivors, but we immortalize the wisdom that thrivers left us.
